The game at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium saw the Duke Blue Devils take control early on, ending the first quarter trailing by just four points but quickly overturning that deficit to lead by halftime. The offense was particularly effective through the air, with passing contributing significantly to their total yardage of 427. The quarterback's arm was accurate and potent, completing 19 out of 31 attempts for two touchdowns and amassing an average of over eight yards per attempt.

The ground game also proved fruitful for Duke as they rushed for a total of 165 yards across 41 attempts. This included one rushing touchdown from within five yards out. Their efficiency in critical situations was evident with a fifty percent conversion rate on third down and successfully converting two out of three fourth-down opportunities.

Defensively, Duke made its presence felt by sacking Virginia Tech's quarterback twice for a loss totaling sixteen yards and recording one interception without allowing any return yardage. They held firm throughout all four quarters, keeping the Hokies scoreless after conceding an early touchdown.

Special teams played their role effectively as well; Duke's punter averaged over forty-five net yards across three punts, placing one inside the twenty-yard line without any being blocked or returned for touchdowns. Meanwhile, kickoffs were strategically executed with two resulting in touchbacks.

As fans look ahead to future games, they can mark their calendars for when the Duke Blue Devils will face off against Pittsburgh Panthers at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh on November 19th at noon Eastern Time. This upcoming contest will be broadcasted live on ACC Network for supporters unable to attend in person.
