Duke Blue Devils Overwhelmed at Truist Field by Wake Forest Demon Deacons in College Football Showdown

The Duke Blue Devils, with a 3-5 record, faced off against the undefeated Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Truist Field. The final score stood at 7-45 in favor of the home team.

In a challenging game for the Duke Blue Devils, their offense managed to accumulate a total of 315 yards. The rushing attack contributed significantly with 160 yards on the ground and an average of over four yards per carry. Despite this effort, they were only able to cross into the end zone once throughout the game. The passing game saw them complete half of their attempts for 155 yards but failed to connect for any touchdowns.


The defense had moments where they applied pressure on Wake Forest's offense, recording two sacks and forcing one fumble which they also recovered. However, these efforts were overshadowed by the Demon Deacons' commanding lead throughout the game.

Special teams had a busy day with seven punts totaling 329 yards and an impressive average of nearly 47 yards per punt; three landed inside the twenty-yard line. Additionally, both kickoff attempts resulted in touchbacks.


Penalties seemed controlled as only five were called against Duke for a total of forty-eight penalty yards. In terms of efficiency on critical downs, Duke converted four out of fifteen third-down attempts and one out of three fourth-down tries.

Looking ahead after this tough outing, fans can mark their calendars for when Duke will take on Pittsburgh Panthers at Brooks Field at Wallace Wade Stadium in Durham on November 6th at noon local time. This upcoming game will be broadcasted live on ACC Network for supporters unable to attend in person.
