East Carolina Pirates Outmaneuver Tulsa Golden Hurricane in a High-Scoring Affair

The East Carolina Pirates improved their season record to 6-4 after securing a victory over the Tulsa Golden Hurricane, who fell to 3-7. In an action-packed game that ended with a score of 38-31, both teams showcased their offensive capabilities, but it was the Pirates who emerged victorious.

Game Highlights


The Pirates' offense was on full display at Skelly Field at H.A. Chapman Stadium, accumulating a total of 536 yards. Quarterback Katin Houser led the charge with 314 passing yards and contributed one touchdown pass, despite throwing three interceptions. His performance was crucial in navigating the team's strategy against a resilient Tulsa defense.


On the ground, East Carolina demonstrated versatility and power. Rahjai Harris stood out with an impressive performance, rushing for 114 yards on 18 attempts and scoring two touchdowns. His longest run of 24 yards was not only a testament to his agility but also highlighted the offensive line's effectiveness in creating opportunities.


Special teams played a pivotal role as well, with Andrew Conrad successfully converting a field goal from an impressive distance of 52 yards, contributing to the overall scoreline.


Defensive Standouts


Defensively, Omar Rogers made significant contributions by recording nine tackles and securing one sack for a loss of five yards. He also forced and recovered a fumble during critical moments of the game. The defensive unit as a whole managed to apply pressure on Tulsa's offense throughout the match by registering seven tackles for loss and one interception by Samuel Dankah that he returned for seventeen yards.
