Clash at FAU Stadium: Florida Atlantic Owls to Host Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in College Football Showdown

As the Florida Atlantic Owls prepare to host the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at FAU Stadium, fans are eager for a glimpse of redemption following a string of challenging games. The Owls' recent performance on November 20 against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers was less than stellar, with a 17-52 defeat that highlighted several areas needing improvement.

The Owls' defense struggled to contain their opponents, failing to record any sacks and allowing over 500 yards. However, they did manage two interceptions, one returned for a touchdown. This defensive resilience will be crucial against MTS's offense. On the offensive side of the ball, despite accumulating over 300 yards and achieving a red zone efficiency of 67 percent, turnovers and penalties were detrimental. The team committed three interceptions and racked up an alarming 139 penalty yards.

In contrast, during their November 13 game against Old Dominion Monarchs, FAU showed signs of balance but ultimately fell short with a scoreline reading just 16-30 in favor of ODU. The rushing attack was moderate with an average gain per carry sitting just above three yards; however, it wasn't enough to secure victory.

Looking ahead to their upcoming game on November 28th at midnight GMT (7 PM Eastern Time), there is cautious optimism surrounding the Owls' chances for success. Their last home game on November 6 showcased some promising aspects such as an impressive total yardage count (441) and better control over penalties compared to subsequent matches.

FAU's ability to maintain possession will be key; they held onto the ball for over half an hour against Marshall Thundering Herd but still came up short in points scored due mainly to turnovers - something they cannot afford against MTS.

The Blue Raiders should not be underestimated either; they bring their own set of challenges that FAU must overcome if they hope for victory in front of their home crowd at Boca Raton.
