Clash at Johnny Red Floyd Stadium: Florida Atlantic Owls vs Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders in Football Showdown

As the Florida Atlantic Owls prepare to face off against the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders at Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium, fans are buzzing with anticipation. The Owls have shown a remarkable ability to dominate on the field, and their recent performance against the Florida International Panthers is a testament to their prowess. On November 13th, they left no doubt about their offensive capabilities, racking up an impressive 52 points while keeping the Panthers at a mere 7.

The Owls' offense was nothing short of spectacular during that game. They demonstrated an exceptional ground game, accumulating 281 rushing yards with an average of nearly 5 yards per carry and scoring five touchdowns. Their passing game was equally efficient; although they only threw for 104 yards, they managed two touchdowns without any interceptions. This level of efficiency in both aspects of offense could spell trouble for the Blue Raiders' defense.

Defensively, FAU showed they could be just as dominant as on offense. They forced three fumbles and recovered two while also intercepting two passes from FIU's quarterbacks. The defense didn't allow any room for error and kept constant pressure throughout the game.

Looking back further into their season provides even more insight into what FAU might bring to Murfreesboro. Against UAB Blazers on October 29th at FAU Stadium, despite winning by only seven points (24-17), it was clear that FAU's home-field advantage played a role in their victory as they maintained possession for exactly half of the game time.

However, not all games have been smooth sailing for FAU; when visiting UTEP Miners on October 22nd at Sun Bowl Stadium, they narrowly lost by three points (21-24). This shows that while strong defensively – forcing one interception returned for a touchdown – there is room for improvement when playing away from home.

Given these performances and considering that over half of this season's games have resulted in losses (5 wins out of 12 games), it would be easy to dismiss FAU's chances against MTS who will enjoy home advantage this time around. But if history has taught us anything about sports, it’s never to underestimate an underdog with momentum on its side.

FAO fans should mark their calendars for November 19th when these teams clash under lights scheduled at 3:30 PM local time (8:30 PM GMT) in Murfreesboro. With ESPN+ broadcasting live coverage of what promises to be an exhilarating encounter between these rivals – make sure you're tuned in!
