First Quarter

The opening quarter set the tone for the Florida Gators as they took an early lead with a field goal followed by a touchdown. The defense was particularly strong, preventing any scoring from the Longhorns. DJ Lagway's precision passing contributed significantly to this early advantage, completing several key throws that kept the chains moving.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, both teams found their rhythm offensively. The Longhorns managed to put points on the board with a touchdown, but it was countered by another impressive drive from Lagway and his receivers. Dallas Wilson emerged as a crucial target for Lagway, catching multiple passes including one that resulted in a touchdown.

Third Quarter

The third quarter saw continued dominance from Florida’s defense which recorded six sacks throughout the game. Tyreak Sapp and Michai Boireau were instrumental in applying pressure on Texas' quarterback, disrupting their offensive flow. Meanwhile, Trey Smack added another field goal for Florida to extend their lead further.

Fourth Quarter

Despite efforts from Texas to mount a comeback in the final quarter with another touchdown drive, it was too little too late as Florida’s defensive unit held firm under pressure. Devin Moore's interception sealed any hopes of recovery for Texas while ensuring that Florida maintained control until time expired.

This performance not only highlighted DJ Lagway’s efficiency—completing 75 percent of his passes—but also underscored how pivotal defensive plays can be in securing victories against formidable opponents like Texas.
