The team's running game was particularly effective, averaging nearly six yards per carry and contributing two touchdowns to their total score.

Defensively, Florida International managed to sack Louisiana Tech's quarterback once and recorded one interception that they returned for seventeen yards. They forced two fumbles during play but could not capitalize on these opportunities as much as they might have hoped.

Penalties played a minor role in this game for Florida International; they were penalized five times for fifty total penalty yards which did not significantly impact their overall performance.
