Panthers' Offensive Showcase

The Florida International Panthers showcased an impressive offensive performance that was too much for the New Mexico State defense to handle. Quarterback Keyone Jenkins had an outstanding game, completing 18 of his 27 pass attempts for a total of 338 yards and four touchdowns. His passer rating of 220.71 highlighted his efficiency and effectiveness in leading the team's aerial attack. Jenkins also contributed on the ground, rushing for 27 yards on six attempts.

Wide receiver Eric Rivers emerged as Jenkins' top target, hauling in 11 receptions for an incredible total of 295 yards and three touchdowns. His longest reception went for a staggering 62 yards, showcasing his big-play ability that consistently put points on the board for Florida International.

Defensive Prowess

On defense, Florida International was equally impressive, limiting New Mexico State to just one touchdown per half while forcing two interceptions that played a crucial role in maintaining control of the game's momentum. Eddie Walls III and Keegan Davis each recorded a sack, contributing to a defensive effort that saw two quarterback hits and three tackles for loss against New Mexico State's offense.

The special teams unit also made significant contributions with Alejandro Prado successfully converting both field goal attempts from distances up to 38 yards out while ensuring all extra point kicks sailed through the uprights.

Looking Ahead

The next challenge for Florida International will be an away game against Jacksonville State Gamecocks at AmFirst Stadium in Jacksonville on November 16th at 2:00 PM EDT. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPN Networks as FIU looks to build upon this victory.
