Seminoles' Defensive Efforts and Offensive Struggles

The Florida State defense showcased resilience throughout the game, amassing three sacks and ten tackles for loss against a potent Memphis offense. Notably, Patrick Payton and Joshua Farmer each contributed significantly with one sack apiece, demonstrating their ability to penetrate the Tigers' offensive line. Justin Cryer's interception highlighted a moment of brilliance within Florida State's defensive unit, although it ultimately wasn't enough to shift momentum in favor of the home team.

On offense, DJ Uiagalelei completed 53 percent of his passes for 201 yards but was hindered by an interception and four sacks that cost his team valuable yardage. Despite these challenges, Malik Benson emerged as a key target through the air with five receptions totaling 99 yards. The ground game struggled to find consistency; Roydell Williams managed only six yards but did find his way into the end zone for Florida State's lone touchdown.

Special teams played a pivotal role as well; Ryan Fitzgerald flawlessly executed both field goal attempts from beyond 39 yards, including one from an impressive distance of 54 yards.
