In a captivating showdown at Valley Children's Stadium, the Fresno State Bulldogs evened out their season tally to 1-1 following a decisive 46-30 victory over the Sacramento State Hornets. The defeat further deepened the Hornets' early-season woes, pushing their record down to 0-2.

The Bulldogs showcased a potent offensive force, racking up an impressive total of 513 yards. Quarterback Mikey Keene was at the forefront of this onslaught, delivering a remarkable performance by throwing for 358 yards with a completion rate of 69 percent and adding two touchdowns to his name. Despite his stellar play, Keene's outing was slightly tarnished by two interceptions. On the rushing front, Malik Sherrod emerged as a key player with two touchdowns and accumulating 54 yards on 22 carries, even as he encountered stiff opposition that resulted in two tackles for loss.


Leading the receiving group was Mac Dalena who turned in an exceptional performance with seven catches for 235 yards and one touchdown. His highlight moment came from a dazzling reception that he converted into a touchdown from an astonishing distance of 75 yards. Jalen Moss also made noteworthy contributions both as a receiver and on special teams; he secured six passes for a total of 76 yards and dazzled with punt returns totaling another impressive sum of 88 yards which included an unforgettable return touchdown from eighty-five yards out.


Defensively, Fresno State maintained consistent pressure on Sacramento State throughout the matchup despite not registering any sacks. The defense shone by forcing three turnovers including one interception by Camryn Bracha that added fourteen more Bulldog yardage while Kosi Agina and Korey Foreman each forced fumbles showcasing Fresno State's defensive tenacity.


Special teams were instrumental in ensuring field position dominance with Dylan Lynch successfully converting one field goal attempt from thirty-two yards while missing two others from beyond thirty-nine yards.
