Fresno State Bulldogs' Defense Shines Despite Loss to Washington State Cougars

Defensive Highlights


The Bulldogs' defense was relentless throughout the game, amassing four sacks and ten tackles for loss against their opponents. Phoenix Jackson led this defensive effort with two sacks and two tackles for loss, contributing significantly to holding back the Cougars' offense. Malachi Langley also stood out by leading his team with seven tackles and assisting on two others, demonstrating his pivotal role in Fresno State's defensive lineup.


Special Teams and Offense


On special teams, Dylan Lynch managed to convert one field goal out of three attempts for Fresno State but struggled beyond that with missed opportunities from beyond 29 yards. In terms of offense, quarterback Mikey Keene completed 24 out of 36 attempted passes for a total of 220 yards including one touchdown pass but was intercepted twice by Washington State's vigilant defense. Elijah Gilliam was a bright spot in the running game for Fresno State; he rushed for an impressive total of 120 yards on twenty carries and scored one touchdown.
