Fresno State Bulldogs' Offensive Fireworks Not Enough at Falcon Stadium

In a game that saw the Fresno State Bulldogs fall to 5-6 and the Air Force Falcons improve to 3-7, the scoreboard lit up with a final tally of 28-36 in favor of the hosts. Despite a valiant effort, the Bulldogs could not overcome their opponents at Falcon Stadium, marking another chapter in their season.

Bulldogs' Aerial Assault

The spotlight shone brightly on quarterback Mikey Keene, who delivered an exceptional performance by throwing for 289 yards with an impressive completion rate of 88 percent. His efforts resulted in three touchdowns through the air, including a remarkable longest pass completion of 73 yards that found its way into the end zone. However, his prowess was slightly marred by an interception and two sacks that cost his team 17 yards.

The receiving corps stepped up significantly to support Keene's aerial assault. Mac Dalena emerged as a standout receiver with four receptions totaling 89 yards and scoring twice, showcasing his ability to break away for big plays. Jalen Moss also made significant contributions with six catches for 75 yards and one touchdown, proving himself as another reliable target for Keene.

Ground Game and Special Teams

On the ground, Fresno State struggled to find consistent success but managed moments of brilliance. Elijah Gilliam led with a modest total of 15 rushing yards but punched in a crucial touchdown that contributed to keeping Fresno State competitive throughout the contest.

Special teams had their moments as well, notably through Dylan Lynch's perfect execution on extra points where he went four-for-four. The kickoff unit ensured Air Force started from deep within their own territory consistently thanks to Lynch's ability to drive all kickoffs resulting in touchbacks.

Despite these individual performances and moments of brilliance across different phases of play - including maintaining possession for nearly fifteen minutes - penalties proved costly for Fresno State Bulldogs. They were flagged five times which set them back by forty-two yards overall; this hindered momentum at critical junctures during play.

Looking ahead after this hard-fought battle at Falcon Stadium against Air Force Falcons, Fresno State Bulldogs will return home to face Colorado State Rams at Valley Children’s Stadium on November 23rd at 10:30 PM EDT. Fans eager not to miss any action can catch this upcoming game broadcast live on CBS Sports Network.
