At Bobby Dodd Stadium in Atlanta, the home crowd witnessed an intense football game where the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets showcased their offensive skills despite falling short to the visiting North Carolina Tar Heels. The Yellow Jackets accumulated a total of 307 yards throughout the game, with their rushing attack contributing 150 yards on 29 attempts. Defensively, Georgia Tech managed to sack North Carolina's quarterback once and recorded one interception which was returned eighteen yards. However, they could not prevent the Tar Heels from scoring thirty-eight points against them.


Penalties did not play a significant role in this contest as both teams maintained discipline; Georgia Tech committed only three penalties totaling twenty-five penalty-yards assessed against them.
