Game Highlights

The game commenced with promise for the Yellow Jackets as they took an early lead in the first quarter. However, momentum shifted as Notre Dame responded with 14 unanswered points in the second quarter and maintained their lead for the remainder of the game. Despite efforts to rally back, Georgia Tech was only able to add six more points in the fourth quarter against Notre Dame's relentless offense.

Georgia Tech's quarterback Zach Pyron completed 20 out of 36 attempts for a total of 269 passing yards, including one touchdown pass but also threw two interceptions. On defense, Tah'j Butler made his presence felt by contributing three tackles and achieving one tackle for loss among other defensive efforts that included forcing turnovers and defending passes.

Player Performances

Noteworthy performances came from several Georgia Tech players. Wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. showcased his skills with six receptions totaling 59 yards, leading his team in receiving yards and helping move chains on critical downs. Running back Jamal Haynes found some success on the ground with eight carries for 15 yards and scored one rushing touchdown, demonstrating versatility by also adding twelve receiving yards on two catches.

On special teams, punter David Shanahan had four punts averaging over forty-five yards each but struggled to pin Notre Dame deep within their territory without any punts landing inside the twenty-yard line.

Despite these individual efforts, Georgia Tech could not overcome Notre Dame's balanced attack and solid defense throughout four quarters of play.

Looking ahead, Georgia Tech will aim to bounce back when they travel to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech Hokies at Lane Stadium on October 26th at 12:00 PM EDT. Fans can catch all action live on ACC Network as both teams strive for victory in this upcoming conference matchup.
