The second quarter saw a reversal of fortunes as Oklahoma State racked up 16 points compared to Houston's nine.


Despite a robust start, the third quarter proved challenging for the Cougars as they were unable to add any points to their tally while Oklahoma State continued their momentum with another 14 points. In the final quarter, both teams fought hard on offense; however, it was not enough for Houston as they scored seven points against ten from their opponents.

The statistics highlight key performances from both sides. The Cougars amassed a total of 393 yards throughout the game and achieved an average gain of six yards per play over 58 plays. Their rushing efforts resulted in one touchdown and contributed significantly with seven first downs and a total rushing yardage of 130 on 28 attempts.


Houston's passing game was also notable; two touchdowns came through aerial efforts including one impressive longest pass completion that went for sixty yards contributing to their overall passing yardage of 263. However, two interceptions by Oklahoma State tempered this success—one being returned for fifty-seven yards resulting in a touchdown.

Special teams played without major incidents; no punts were blocked nor returned for touchdowns. Penalties did have some impact on Houston's performance—ten penalties cost them seventy-nine yards over the course of play.
