First Quarter

The opening quarter saw the Coogs establishing an early lead with a solid performance on both sides of the ball. Ethan Sanchez kicked off scoring with a field goal, followed by Conner Weigman's precise passing that set up another scoring opportunity. The defense held firm, preventing any points from being scored by the Buffs.

Second Quarter

In contrast, the second quarter witnessed a surge from Colorado as they managed to score two touchdowns. However, Houston's offense responded effectively with two field goals from Sanchez and a rushing touchdown by Dean Connors. This back-and-forth action highlighted some key moments in what became an intense period for both teams.

Third Quarter

Returning after halftime, Houston's defense tightened its grip on Colorado's offense. Eddie Walls and Corey Platt Jr., each recorded sacks that disrupted any momentum for Colorado. Meanwhile, Weigman showcased his versatility with significant rushing yards contributing to another touchdown drive for Houston.

Fourth Quarter

As time wound down in the final quarter, Blake Thompson secured an interception that halted any comeback hopes for Colorado. The Coogs capitalized on this turnover with another successful field goal attempt by Sanchez and maintained their lead until time expired.

In post-game interviews, players expressed satisfaction over their performance but emphasized areas needing improvement ahead of future matchups. Coach Dana Holgorsen shared his thoughts during his post-game reaction about maintaining focus as they prepare for upcoming challenges.
