At Ryan Field, the Illinois Fighting Illini's offense accumulated a total of 262 yards. The rushing attack contributed significantly to this figure, churning out 155 yards on 35 attempts for an average of about four yards per carry. However, they were unable to convert these efforts into rushing touchdowns. Through the air, Illinois managed to complete seven passes for 107 yards including one touchdown pass that went for an impressive distance of 46 yards.

The special teams unit had mixed results; while they successfully made one field goal from within the range of thirty-nine yards out of three attempts, their kicking game was solid as they achieved two touchbacks on kickoffs. The punt unit performed admirably as well; punting four times for an average net yardage exceeding fifty-one and placing three punts inside the twenty-yard line.

Defensively, Illinois forced one fumble and recovered it but did not manage any interceptions or sacks during this contest. They also limited their penalties to just four infractions costing them thirty-five penalty yards.

On the other side of the ball, Northwestern capitalized on their scoring opportunities throughout each quarter except for the last where they did not score any points. Their defense held strong against Illinois' offensive efforts and maintained control throughout most parts of the game.

Fans looking forward to seeing how Illinois will bounce back can mark their calendars for December nineteenth when they take on Penn State Nittany Lions at Beaver Stadium in University Park at five-thirty PM Eastern Time. This upcoming game will be broadcasted live on Fox Sports One channel two hundred nineteen where supporters can follow all action live from home or wherever they choose to watch.
