Special teams also contributed to the win with impeccable performance from their kicker who successfully made all attempted kicks including one field goal from 33 yards out and five extra points following touchdowns. The punting unit maintained solid field position throughout the game averaging about 45 net yards per punt.


The Scarlet Knights struggled to find momentum during the contest as evidenced by their ten points scored against Illinois' stout defense. Despite these challenges, they managed to score ten points during the second quarter but were unable to sustain this effort in either half.
