Hoosiers Dominate at Memorial Stadium in Football Face-Off Against Scarlet Knights

The Indiana Hoosiers emerged victorious with a commanding 41-0 lead over the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. The Hoosiers' season record improved to an impressive tally, while the Scarlet Knights were left searching for answers after failing to put any points on the board.

At Memorial Stadium in Bloomington, Indiana, a crowd of 35,949 witnessed the Hoosiers' offense amass a total of 503 yards. The passing game contributed significantly with 236 yards and two touchdowns; one pass was an outstanding 57-yard touchdown completion. The ground game was equally effective, churning out 267 yards and three touchdowns, including an eight-yard dash into the end zone.


The home team's defense was relentless throughout the game, recording four sacks for a loss of 28 yards and forcing two fumbles from which they recovered one. This defensive effort limited the Scarlet Knights to zero points on their side of the scoreboard.


Special teams also played their part well; kickoffs traveled a total distance of 510 yards with five resulting in touchbacks. Field goal kickers were perfect on the day, converting both attempts from within 29 yards.


Red zone efficiency stood out as another highlight for Indiana as they capitalized on all six opportunities presented to them during this matchup. Their third-down conversion rate was notable at approximately 59 percent success across seventeen attempts.


As for penalties, it was a disciplined game by both sides with only one penalty against each team throughout four quarters of play.
