Hoosiers Narrowly Defeated at Capital One Field in Football Showdown with Terrapins

The Indiana Hoosiers, with a 2-10 record, faced off against the Maryland Terrapins, who held a 7-6 record. In a closely contested game at Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium, the final score read 35-38 in favor of the home team.

The Hoosiers' offense generated a total of 446 yards throughout the game. The passing attack contributed 242 yards to this tally, with an impressive quarterback rating of 164. The ground game was equally effective, amassing 204 rushing yards and featuring a standout long touchdown run that covered an impressive distance of 66 yards. The offensive unit managed to convert four out of five red zone opportunities into scores and successfully executed both attempts on fourth down.


Indiana's special teams had moments of success as well; their field goal unit saw two successful kicks from three attempts, including one from beyond the halfway mark at 55 yards. Kickoff duties were efficiently handled too; out of six kickoffs, five resulted in touchbacks.

Despite these efforts by Indiana's offense and special teams units, it was not enough to secure victory over the Terrapins. Maryland capitalized on scoring opportunities throughout the game which ultimately led them to outscore their opponents by three points.


Defensively for Indiana Hoosiers, there were notable achievements including two sacks totaling a loss of eighteen yards for Maryland and nine tackles for loss which pushed back their opponents by thirty-three yards overall. However, they could not force any turnovers during the contest.
