Indiana Hoosiers Dominate Maryland Terrapins in a Commanding Victory

The Indiana Hoosiers have improved their season record to an impressive 5-0 after securing a 42-28 victory over the Maryland Terrapins. The Terrapins, now standing at 3-2, faced a challenging opponent in the Hoosiers, who showcased their strength on both sides of the ball. With this win, Indiana not only remains undefeated but also sends a strong message to their future opponents.

Offensive Highlights


The offensive unit for the Hoosiers was firing on all cylinders, amassing a total of 510 yards. Quarterback Kurtis Rourke had an exceptional game, throwing for 359 yards with a completion rate of 67 percent and contributing three touchdowns through the air. Despite two interceptions, his performance was pivotal in guiding Indiana to victory.


The ground game was equally effective for Indiana as they rushed for 151 yards across 42 attempts. Ty Son Lawton led the rushing attack with 93 yards and found the end zone once, showcasing his agility and power throughout the game. Justice Ellison also made significant contributions with his touchdown run among his total of 51 rushing yards.


Receiving efforts were led by Elijah Sarratt who racked up an impressive 128 receiving yards on seven catches including one touchdown. Omar Cooper Jr.'s contribution was notable as well with four receptions totaling 83 yards and one touchdown.


Defensive Standouts


On defense, Indiana displayed tenacity by recording five sacks and forcing two fumbles against Maryland's offense. James Carpenter stood out on defense with two sacks contributing to those numbers significantly while Aiden Fisher and Jailin Walker each added half a sack to their names alongside multiple tackles.


Special teams played their part effectively as well; punter James Evans had four punts totaling 188 yards helping in field position battle significantly by landing two inside the Terrapin's twenty-yard line.
