Iowa Hawkeyes Grind Out Victory at Ryan Field in College Football Showdown

The passing game for Iowa was efficient as well; completing twenty out of thirty-two attempts for a total of one hundred seventy-six yards. Their completion percentage stood at sixty-three percent and they managed to keep interceptions at zero throughout the game. This aerial efficiency was complemented by perfect red zone execution where they capitalized on all three opportunities presented to them.


Defensively, the Hawkeyes were just as formidable. They recorded three sacks totaling twenty-four lost yardage for Northwestern and six tackles for loss amounting to thirty-six negative yardage against their opponents. Additionally, they intercepted three passes from Northwestern's offense but did not return any for touchdowns.


Special teams also played its part; notably with one punt blocked by Iowa's defense contributing to their special teams' efforts which included nine punts covering three hundred twenty-seven total yards and four kickoffs totaling two hundred forty-nine yards.


Penalties were minimal during this contest as only three were called against Iowa resulting in thirty penalty-yards assessed against them – showcasing disciplined play throughout four quarters.
