In their last outing on October 29th against the Oklahoma Sooners, ISU fell short with a final score of 27-13. Despite this loss, there were some positives to take away from the game. The defense managed to sack the opposing quarterback once and recorded seven tackles for loss while forcing one fumble which they recovered. On special teams, punting was particularly effective with an average of 45 yards per punt and three placed inside the opponent's 20-yard line.

Offensively, however, turnovers proved costly as ISU gave up three interceptions against Oklahoma. This is an area where improvement is crucial if they want to secure a win against WVU. The passing game did rack up over 300 yards but will need to be more efficient in converting red zone opportunities into touchdowns rather than settling for field goals.

Looking back further at their October 15th clash with Texas Longhorns reveals that ISU can indeed put points on the board when clicking offensively – scoring two passing touchdowns and one rushing touchdown in a narrow defeat of 24-21. Their third-down efficiency was impressive at 60 percent success rate which kept drives alive and maintained pressure on Texas' defense.

The Cyclones' defensive unit has been consistent throughout these past games; however, it's clear that minimizing mistakes on offense will be key against WVU. Ball security must be prioritized as turnovers have been detrimental in previous matchups.

ISU fans should expect their team to come out determined after recent setbacks. There is talent within this squad capable of producing big plays both defensively and offensively – it's just about execution now.

The stage is set for November 5th under Jack Trice Stadium lights where loyal supporters can catch all action live on ESPN+. It promises to be an enthralling encounter as ISU looks to harness home advantage and return to winning ways in front of their passionate fan base.
