In their last outing on October 17th against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers, JVS eked out a narrow victory with a score of 20-17. The defense was key in this game, holding strong and registering one sack and an interception that proved crucial. The offense managed to accumulate 484 total yards with a balanced attack that saw them gain 262 yards on the ground and 222 through the air. Despite two turnovers, they maintained control of possession for over half of the game (33:04), which could be vital against FIU.

However, it wasn't all smooth sailing for JVS; just one week prior on October 10th, they faced a tough loss against Liberty Flames where they scored only 13 points to Liberty's 31. This game highlighted some areas for improvement as JVS turned over the ball twice and racked up seven penalties totaling 65 yards – discipline will be essential if they want to secure another win.

Looking further back to October 5th provides more reasons for optimism as JVS dominated Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders with an impressive scoreline of 45-30. Their defensive prowess shone through once again with eight sacks and two interceptions while forcing two fumbles – one returned for a touchdown. Offensively, they were efficient in red zone situations converting four out of five opportunities into touchdowns.

The upcoming match-up presents an opportunity for JVS to capitalize on their strengths while addressing weaknesses exposed in previous games. Discipline will be key; minimizing penalties and turnovers could tilt the field in their favor.

FIU will not make it easy though; as hosts at Riccardo Silva Stadium, they'll look to leverage home advantage and disrupt JVS's rhythm early on. It's imperative that Jacksonville State establishes control from kickoff if they wish to silence what is sure to be a raucous Panther crowd.

Fans eagerly awaiting this encounter should mark their calendars for October 25th when these teams clash under lights scheduled at an evening kickoff time of 7:00 PM ET (23:00 UTC). Those unable to attend can catch all action live on CBS Sports Network via satellite channel number 221 – this is one game you won't want miss!
