First Quarter

The opening quarter set the tone for a tightly contested match as both teams managed to score a touchdown each. The Gamecocks' offense was led by quarterback Caden Creel, who completed 14 of his 20 passes for a total of 173 yards and one touchdown. His longest completion was a significant 28-yard pass that helped Jacksonville State maintain momentum early on.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, the Trojans took advantage of some lapses in JSU's defense to add another six points to their tally. Despite this setback, Jacksonville's defense remained resilient with standout performances from players like Walker O'Steen and Ian Mitchell. O'Steen recorded one sack and one tackle for loss while Mitchell contributed an interception that thwarted a potential scoring drive by Troy.

Third Quarter

As play resumed after halftime, both defenses tightened up significantly. The only points scored came from Garrison Rippa’s impressive field goal from 51 yards out for JSU. This kick not only showcased Rippa’s skill but also highlighted the importance of special teams in such closely fought encounters.

Fourth Quarter

The final quarter saw Jacksonville State reclaim control with another touchdown drive orchestrated by Creel and his receiving corps including Deondre Johnson who had six receptions totaling over 100 yards during this game alone. Defensively Tyrin Taylor added another interception which proved crucial as it prevented any late-game heroics from Troy.

Overall it was an intense matchup where defensive prowess played pivotal roles on both sides; however it was ultimately JSU's ability to capitalize on key opportunities that secured them victory here today according to post-game thoughts Jacksonville State Gamecocks shared afterwards.
