Football Face-off at Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium: Kansas Jayhawks vs Oklahoma Sooners

As the Kansas Jayhawks prepare to face the Oklahoma Sooners at the Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, fans are looking forward to what promises to be a riveting game of football. The Jayhawks, coming off a narrow loss against the Kansas State Wildcats with a score of 17-21 on November 10th, will be eager to bounce back and prove their mettle.

The previous game saw KU's offense put up 333 total yards with an average gain of almost 5 yards per play. Despite three fumbles and two turnovers, they managed to keep possession for over half an hour. Their passing game was particularly effective; they completed 61 percent of their passes for 232 yards and two touchdowns without throwing a single interception. However, their rushing attack struggled somewhat, averaging just over 3 yards per carry.

Defensively, KU showed promise by sacking the opposing quarterback twice and recording six tackles for loss. Yet it wasn't enough to secure victory as they allowed four red zone attempts and couldn't force any turnovers from Kansas State.

In stark contrast stands their performance against Iowa State Cyclones on November 3rd where KU scored only three points in front of a home crowd. They amassed just over three hundred total yards but were unable to find the end zone despite eight red zone attempts – highlighting significant issues in converting opportunities into points.

However, it's worth noting that KU's most recent home game on October 27th against TCU Horned Frogs ended in triumph with a scoreline reading 27-26 in favor of the Jayhawks. Their defense stepped up by not only sacking TCU once but also recovering a fumble and intercepting once which contributed directly to their narrow victory.

Looking ahead at the upcoming clash with Oklahoma Sooners, it is imperative that KU leverages its passing efficiency while tightening up its red zone offense if they wish to emerge victorious. The defense needs to replicate or exceed its performance from the TCU game – forcing turnovers could be key in swinging momentum their way.

Fans should mark their calendars for November 18th when these two teams lock horns under the lights at Norman starting at 7:30 PM local time (CT). The action will unfold live on FOX – this is one encounter you wouldn’t want to miss as KU looks forward not just for redemption but also an upset over OKL on enemy turf.
