In front of a crowd of 15,219 at David Booth Memorial Stadium, the Kansas Jayhawks displayed a determined effort despite falling short against the visiting Texas Longhorns. The home team's defense managed to sack their opponents twice and recorded six tackles for loss. They also forced two fumbles and intercepted two passes during the game.

The offense for the Jayhawks was able to accumulate a total of 285 yards throughout the game. Their passing efforts resulted in one touchdown and netted them 159 yards. The quarterback completed half of his attempts with an average gain per pass play rounding up to five yards. On the ground, they rushed for 137 yards including one remarkable touchdown run that spanned 57 yards.

Special teams contributed as well with their punter averaging over 45 net yards across seven attempts, three landing inside the opponent's twenty-yard line. Moreover, they successfully converted all kicking opportunities; this included one field goal from just inside fifty yards and both extra point attempts following touchdowns.

Penalties played a significant role in shaping the course of events as well; Kansas incurred nine penalties totaling nearly hundred penalty yards which impacted their momentum at crucial junctures during playtime.

Despite these setbacks, third-down conversions were successful almost half of their nineteen attempts which kept drives alive and allowed them to maintain possession for over half an hour during gameplay.

As fans look forward to future games broadcasted from Lawrence or elsewhere featuring their beloved team, it is clear that every player on that field left everything they had until the final whistle blew at David Booth Memorial Stadium.
