At Jones AT&T Stadium, home to the Red Raiders, an attendance of 56,200 fans witnessed the Kansas State Wildcats assert their dominance early on. The first quarter set the tone for the game as the Wildcats put up 10 points while keeping Texas Tech scoreless. Although Texas Tech managed to rally in the second quarter with 14 points to Kansas State's seven, it was not enough to shift momentum.

The third quarter saw another strong performance from Kansas State as they added another 14 points to their tally while allowing only seven from Texas Tech. By this time it was clear that Kansas State had taken control of the game. The final quarter cemented their victory with an additional seven points while once again shutting out Texas Tech.

Kansas State's offense racked up an impressive total yardage of 435 with a balanced attack through both rushing and passing plays. Their rushing offense proved particularly effective as they accumulated 272 yards on ground including five touchdowns; one rush even broke free for a notable distance of 30 yards into endzone territory. Meanwhile, passing wasn't neglected either – completing passes for an average gain per attempt close to nine yards.

Defensively, Kansas State also made significant contributions by sacking Texas Tech's quarterback twice and intercepting three passes which were returned for a combined total of 24 yards. This defensive effort limited any potential momentum shifts and kept pressure on their opponents throughout all four quarters.

Special teams played cleanly without any blocked punts or kicks; however one field goal did sail through from an impressive distance of nearly half a hundred yards contributing three more points towards their total score.
