At Kroger Field, the Wildcats' offense was on full display as they amassed a total of 450 yards. The passing game was particularly effective, with the quarterback throwing for 315 yards and three touchdowns. One of these aerial scores was a highlight-reel-worthy 58-yard touchdown pass that captivated fans. The receiving corps also had an impressive outing, catching passes for an average of nearly 20 yards per reception.

The ground game complemented the passing attack well, contributing with two rushing touchdowns and totaling 135 yards. A standout moment came when one rusher broke free for a spectacular 55-yard touchdown run that energized both the team and spectators alike.

Defensively, Kentucky's performance was just as dominant. They racked up five sacks on Akron's quarterback and added seven tackles for loss which pushed back their opponents by a combined total of over forty yards behind the line of scrimmage. This relentless pressure contributed to limiting Akron to only three points throughout the game.

Special teams also played their part; while no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, kickoffs were strategically placed with four reaching into end zone territory and three resulting in touchbacks.
