At Cajun Field in Lafayette, an attendance of 16,231 fans witnessed a challenging game for the Liberty Flames. The home team's defense applied pressure on the Flames' offense resulting in three sacks and limiting them to just one passing touchdown. Despite these setbacks, Liberty managed to complete 22 passes for a total of 219 yards through the air and scored once via this route. Their ground game was more effective with one rushing touchdown that came from an impressive long run of 66 yards out of their total rushing yardage of 142.

The Flames showed some resilience on defense as well by recording two sacks and recovering one fumble while forcing two fumbles overall. They also intercepted one pass during the game but were unable to capitalize significantly on these turnovers.

Special teams had moments worth noting as well; Liberty's punting unit put up an average net yardage close to 35 per punt over five attempts and managed to place two within the opponent's twenty-yard line. However, no punts were blocked nor returned for touchdowns by either team.

Penalties seemed controlled as neither side crossed thresholds that would highlight disciplinary issues; The Flames incurred nine penalties amounting to just over forty yards lost due to infractions.

Looking ahead after this tough outing against Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin' Cajuns at Cajun Field where they fell short despite some solid individual performances and moments of defensive effectiveness – The Liberty Flames will be hosting their next game against Buffalo Bulls at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg on September 14th at 6:00 PM local time. Fans can catch all action live as it will be broadcasted on ESPN+.
