Liberty Flames Narrowly Defeated at Wayne Day Family Field in Football Showdown

At Wayne Day Family Field at Carter-Finley Stadium, the Liberty Flames showcased their defensive capabilities by recording two sacks and accumulating six tackles for loss. The defense also managed to secure an interception that was returned for 14 yards. Despite these efforts, penalties played a role in the game's dynamics as the Flames incurred seven penalties totaling 45 yards.

The offensive unit of Liberty struggled to find consistency throughout the game. The passing attack completed only 13 out of 32 attempts for a total of 172 yards and two touchdowns but was marred by three interceptions. The longest pass completion was just shy of thirty yards and resulted in one of their touchdowns being only twelve yards long. On the ground, they rushed for a total of 107 yards over thirty-eight attempts with their longest run reaching twenty-one yards; however, they failed to cross into the end zone via rush.

Special teams had mixed results with five punts averaging nearly forty-six yards each but none landing inside the twenty-yard line. One punt did travel fifty-four yards which stood as their longest punt during this contest. Kickoff duties were well-managed with four kickoffs totaling two hundred forty-five yards and half resulting in touchbacks.

Despite these efforts by special teams and defense, it wasn't enough to secure victory for Liberty as they fell short by one point against North Carolina State Wolfpack who scored fifteen points including six points from two field goals in fourth quarter sealing their win.

Looking ahead after this narrow defeat, fans can mark their calendars for November twenty-seventh when Liberty will host Massachusetts Minutemen at Williams Stadium located in Lynchburg VA; kickoff is scheduled for noon Eastern Time on ESPN3 where supporters can tune in to watch next game live.
