Game Highlights

The Liberty Flames showcased their offensive prowess by accumulating a total of 423 yards, with a significant contribution coming from their ground game which accounted for 309 rushing yards. Quinton Cooley led the charge for the Flames with an impressive performance that included 147 rushing yards on 20 attempts and scoring three touchdowns. His longest run was for 27 yards, highlighting his ability to break through defenses and change the course of the game.

Kaidon Salter, despite facing pressure and being sacked three times, managed to complete nine out of sixteen passes for a total of 114 passing yards. However, his efforts were marred by an interception and only six first downs through air attacks. On special teams, Max Morgan's punting played a strategic role in field positioning as he successfully landed all three attempts inside the UMass's twenty-yard line.

The defensive unit of Liberty also had its moments despite not recording any sacks or interceptions during the game. They managed to hold back UMass's offense on crucial plays which contributed significantly to keeping the scoreline tight until overtime was forced.

UMass Efforts Not Enough

On their part, UMass showed resilience throughout regular playtime leading into overtime but fell short by just one point in this high-scoring affair. Their efforts during each quarter kept fans on both sides at the edge of their seats as they matched up closely against Liberty’s advances.

Looking Ahead

The next challenge for Liberty University will be hosting Western Kentucky Hilltoppers at Williams Stadium (VA) in Lynchburg on November 23rd at 1:00 PM EDT. Fans eager not to miss this encounter can catch live action broadcasted on ESPN+.
