The Maryland Terrapins, playing at their home ground of Capital One Field at Maryland Stadium, delivered a commanding performance against the Howard Bison with a final score of 79-0. The game was an offensive showcase for the Terrapins, who amassed a total of 623 yards. The passing game was particularly effective, with quarterbacks combining for a passer rating of nearly 200 and completing over half their passes for five touchdowns. The longest touchdown pass was an impressive 62-yard throw that contributed to their average gain per play being just under eight yards.

On the ground, Maryland's rushing attack proved unstoppable as well, churning out 317 yards and matching the aerial assault with another five touchdowns. Their longest run came just shy of half a century mark at 49 yards. This balanced attack helped them achieve first downs through rushing plays thirteen times.

Special teams also played its part; one punt return went for a touchdown after covering forty yards. This contributed to one out of eleven total touchdowns scored by Maryland during this lopsided affair.

Defensively, Maryland was just as dominant. They recorded seven sacks and fourteen tackles for loss while keeping Howard off the scoreboard entirely. A safety added two points to their already substantial lead while they also managed to block one special teams play.

Penalties were minimal and did not significantly impact the flow or outcome of this game; both teams maintained discipline throughout most of this contest.

As fans look ahead, they can anticipate seeing if Maryland can maintain this level of performance when they host Syracuse Orange at SECU Stadium in College Park on September 7th at noon local time (4 PM GMT). Fans unable to attend can catch all the action live on ESPN satellite channel two hundred six.
