The game at Ladd-Peebles Stadium saw the Memphis Tigers dominate from start to finish. The offense was particularly potent, amassing an impressive total of 530 yards. The ground game was unstoppable as they churned out 312 rushing yards on 45 attempts, achieving an average of nearly seven yards per carry. A highlight was a spectacular run that resulted in the longest rush of the night at 72 yards.

The passing attack complemented this rushing efficiency effectively. Quarterback play for the Tigers was sharp; they completed 14 out of their 22 attempts for a total of 218 passing yards and three touchdowns. One pass stood out as it soared for an impressive distance before being caught, marking the longest reception at 58 yards.

Special teams also contributed significantly to this comprehensive team performance with two successful field goals and four extra points made without fail. Kickoffs were strategically executed with five resulting in touchbacks from eight attempts.

Defensively, Memphis showed their prowess by limiting South Alabama's scoring opportunities and keeping them off balance throughout the game. They forced two turnovers including one fumble recovery which they returned for a touchdown covering an exciting distance before reaching the end zone.

Penalties were notable on both sides with each team accruing ten penalties throughout the contest; however, it was particularly costly for Memphis who accumulated exactly one hundred penalty yards against them.

As fans look forward to more action-packed games from their beloved team, attention now turns to future contests. The next challenge will be against Navy Midshipmen back home at Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium in Memphis on September twenty-seventh at seven PM local time (Central Time).
