Game Highlights


The Hurricanes showcased their offensive might by accumulating a total of 445 yards, with an impressive ground game that contributed significantly to their win. Damien Martinez led the rushing attack with 148 yards on just 15 carries, including two touchdowns, one being an electrifying longest run of 53 yards that set up a scoring opportunity. Mark Fletcher Jr. also made notable contributions with his performance on the field; he rushed for 71 yards across 15 attempts and secured one touchdown.


Miami's defense was equally imposing, recording three sacks and maintaining pressure on the Seminoles throughout the game. Rueben Bain Jr., Simeon Barrow Jr., and Akheem Mesidor each recorded a sack contributing to a total loss of thirteen yards for Florida State. The defensive line's efforts were pivotal in limiting FSU's scoring opportunities.


Special teams played a crucial role as well; kicker Andres Borregales was perfect on the day, contributing nine points through three field goals with his longest being from forty-five yards out.


Player Spotlights


Quarterback Cam Ward managed an efficient passing game despite facing pressure resulting in four sacks against him. He completed twenty-two passes out of thirty-five attempts for two hundred eight yards but did not throw any touchdowns this match—a rare occurrence for him this season.


Isaiah Horton emerged as Ward’s top target catching six passes for sixty-five yards while showcasing his ability to create plays downfield against FSU’s secondary unit.


On defense, Francisco Mauigoa and Wesley Bissainthe were instrumental in halting FSU’s offense by combining for twelve tackles which helped keep momentum firmly in Miami's favor throughout much of the contest.
