Looking back at the recent performances, MSU's record stands at 3 wins and 7 losses. Their last outing against the Ohio State Buckeyes on November 12th ended in a crushing 38-3 defeat. The offense struggled to gain traction with only 182 total yards and an average of just over three yards per play. Despite these setbacks, there were positives to be taken from their punting game which averaged nearly 40 net yards per attempt.

In contrast, MSU showed resilience in their home victory against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on November 4th with a close score of 20-17. The defense was particularly impressive with seven sacks and two interceptions contributing to this win. Offensively, they were more effective through the air than on the ground, achieving two passing touchdowns and an overall higher average gain per play compared to their loss against Ohio State.

The October 28th game against Minnesota's Golden Gophers revealed both strengths and weaknesses for MSU as well. They managed a decent offensive output with nearly five yards per play but ultimately fell short with a final score of 27-12 in favor of Minnesota.

The upcoming battle will not be easy for MSU; however, it is crucial that they capitalize on their defensive prowess shown in previous games while also finding consistency within their offensive unit if they wish to overcome IU's challenge.

Indiana Hoosiers have had their own struggles this season but playing at home could give them an edge over MSU. It will be essential for Spartan’s defense to maintain pressure as they did against Nebraska while seeking improvements offensively from both rushing and passing perspectives.

Spartan fans should expect a hard-fought contest where every possession will count towards either redemption or further disappointment in this tumultuous season.

The showdown between Michigan State Spartans and Indiana Hoosiers is scheduled for kickoff at Memorial Stadium (Bloomington, IN) on November 18th at noon local time (5:00 PM GMT). Fans can catch all the action live on BTN satellite channel number 610.
