In an impressive display at Spartan Stadium, the Michigan State Spartans football team outperformed the Maryland Terrapins in both offense and defense. The Spartans' offense accumulated a total of 481 yards with an average gain of 6.5 yards per play over the course of 74 plays. They were particularly effective on third down conversions, succeeding on eight out of thirteen attempts.

The passing game was especially potent for the Spartans as they completed 22 passes for 287 yards and four touchdowns. Their quarterback had an outstanding performance with a passer rating rounded to 191 and completed over seventy percent of his throws including one that went for fifty-two yards resulting in a touchdown.

On the ground, the rushing attack added another dimension to their offensive game plan contributing to their dominance by gaining another solid total yardage count rounded to nearly two hundred yards across forty-four attempts which included two touchdowns; one being only three yards long but crucial nonetheless.

Defensively, Michigan State was just as formidable. They applied consistent pressure on the opposing quarterback resulting in four sacks totaling forty-eight negative yards for Maryland and also recorded one interception that was returned thirty-five yards by their defense.

Special teams also played its part well; although no punts were blocked or returned for touchdowns, they managed to place two punts inside the twenty-yard line while maintaining an average net yardage per punt above fifty-one.

Penalties could have been problematic as there were eight against them amounting to seventy-nine penalty yards but it did not significantly hinder their overall performance during this encounter against Maryland Terrapins who used up all but one timeout and challenge available to them during this contest.

Looking ahead after this comprehensive win at home against Maryland Terrapins football team fans can now turn their attention towards next week's game where Michigan State will be playing away against Ohio State Buckeyes at Ohio Stadium located in Columbus. This upcoming event is scheduled for November twenty-first at noon Eastern Time and will be broadcasted live on ABC network allowing fans not able to attend another opportunity to watch their team compete.
