In an intense defensive battle, the Wolverines showcased their might on their home turf. The defense was particularly dominant, recording eight sacks and forcing three interceptions without allowing any touchdowns. This relentless pressure limited the Hawkeyes to a mere field goal over four quarters of play.

The offensive unit for the Wolverines managed to accumulate a total of 252 yards, with 120 coming from the ground game which also produced their sole touchdown. The passing attack added another 147 yards but could not find its way into the end zone. Despite this, they maintained control of possession for over half of the game time.

Special teams played a role as well; although there were no blocked punts or punt returns for touchdowns, Michigan's punter averaged nearly 46 yards across eight attempts with his longest being an impressive 59-yard kick. Field goal kicking had its ups and downs as only one out of three attempts sailed through the uprights from within 29 yards.

Penalties were kept relatively low by both teams with Michigan committing just four penalties totaling in 35 penalty yards assessed against them – demonstrating discipline in what could have been costly situations.

Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for when the Wolverines take on Illinois Fighting Illini at Memorial Stadium in Champaign on October 12th at noon local time (11 AM Eastern). This upcoming game will be broadcasted live on ABC where supporters can tune in to follow their team's progress through this season's challenges.
