Despite their efforts on offense and special teams, penalties did have an impact on Mississippi State's game flow; they incurred eight penalties totaling seventy penalty yards throughout the contest.


On defense, while no sacks were recorded by Mississippi State's defense against Auburn's offense, they did manage to tackle opponents behind the line for losses totaling twenty yards across four instances.
