Nebraska's Defensive Dominance


The Cornhuskers' defense was relentless throughout the game, contributing significantly to keeping the Panthers at bay. John Bullock led the defensive efforts with an impressive nine combined tackles, including two solo tackles and seven assists. He also recorded one sack for a loss of one yard, showcasing his ability to disrupt the opposing offense effectively.


Malcolm Hartzog Jr.'s interception was another highlight for Nebraska's defense, returning it for 15 yards and setting up an excellent field position that further demoralized the Northern Iowa team. This play exemplified how turnovers can shift momentum in favor of the Cornhuskers.


Offensive Firepower


On offense, quarterback Dylan Raiola stood out with his arm strength and accuracy. Raiola completed 17 out of 23 pass attempts for a total of 247 yards, throwing two touchdowns against one interception. His performance yielded an impressive passer rating of 184.12, highlighting his pivotal role in Nebraska's offensive strategy.


Raiola found Carter Nelson for one of those touchdowns on a beautifully executed play that resulted in a 24-yard score. Nelson ended up with four receptions totaling 48 yards alongside his touchdown contribution.


Running back Emmett Johnson also made significant contributions to Nebraska’s ground game with four carries resulting in 50 yards and scoring once on a long run of 36 yards which showcased his speed and agility.
