The Nevada Wolf Pack entered the game with determination but struggled to find their rhythm against a robust Iowa defense. The offense was held to just 151 total yards, with their ground game accounting for 69 yards across 36 attempts, averaging nearly two yards per carry. Despite these efforts, they were unable to secure any touchdowns or field goals throughout the contest.

The passing game also faced hurdles as the Wolf Pack's quarterback was sacked four times and threw an interception. Completing only half of his passes, he managed just 82 yards through the air on 28 attempts. This resulted in an average of approximately three yards per pass attempt and a passer rating hovering around 67.

On special teams, Nevada's punter had a busy day with ten punts totaling 446 yards; however, none led to scoring opportunities or significantly shifted field position in their favor. The longest punt traveled an impressive distance of 66 yards but failed to alleviate pressure consistently from the defense.

Defensively, Nevada showed some resilience by recording three sacks and six tackles for loss while limiting penalty yardage to just over thirty-five on three infractions. However, this effort wasn't enough to counteract Iowa's scoring drives which accumulated twenty-seven points over four quarters.
