First Quarter

The opening quarter saw both defenses holding firm, with neither team managing to put points on the board. The Wolf Pack's defense was particularly impressive, led by linebacker Sam Cook who recorded a sack and tackle for loss.

Second Quarter

In the second quarter, Nevada took control offensively. Chubba Purdy connected with Ky Woods on a 47-yard touchdown pass that electrified the home crowd. Joe McFadden added two field goals to give Nevada a 13-point lead heading into halftime.

Third Quarter

The third quarter was another defensive showcase from both sides as neither team managed to score. The Wolf Pack's defense continued their relentless pressure on MTSU’s quarterback, recording multiple sacks and keeping their offense at bay.

Fourth Quarter

However, in the fourth quarter, Middle Tennessee mounted an impressive comeback. Two late touchdowns shifted momentum in favor of the Blue Raiders and sealed their victory over Nevada by just one point.

Despite this narrow defeat, there were standout performances from several players on Nevada’s roster. EJ Smith made an interception that highlighted his defensive capabilities while Bailey Ettridge excelled in punting duties with an average of over 50 yards per punt.

For fans eager for more action from their team after this intense matchup, they can look forward to seeing Nevada take on Western Kentucky Hilltoppers next week at Houchens Industries-L.T. Smith Stadium in Bowling Green on September 20th at 7:00 PM EDT. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN+.
