First Quarter

The game began with the Lobos taking an early lead. The first quarter saw New Mexico score a touchdown, while Nevada managed to put up only a field goal by Joe McFadden, who was perfect on his attempts throughout the game. The quarter ended with a score of 7-3 in favor of the home team.

Second Quarter

Nevada responded strongly in the second quarter. Carter Jones led an efficient passing attack, completing 79 percent of his passes and accumulating 202 yards without any interceptions. His efforts helped set up two field goals and a rushing touchdown by Caleb Ramseur, who had two touchdowns on the day. Despite these efforts, New Mexico matched their scoring output with another touchdown, keeping them ahead at halftime with a score of 14-12.

Third Quarter

In the third quarter, both teams continued their competitive play. The Lobos extended their lead with another touchdown and field goal combination that pushed them further ahead. Nevada answered back as Ramseur found his way into the end zone again for his second rushing touchdown of the game but still trailed by five points going into the final period.

Fourth Quarter

The fourth quarter was marked by strong defensive plays from both sides. Notably for Nevada, Murvin Kenion III contributed significantly on defense alongside Jonathan Maldonado who recorded half a sack and forced crucial stops that kept hopes alive for Nevada fans until late in regulation when McFadden added another successful field goal attempt bringing them within two points.

Despite this late surge from 'the Pack', time ran out before they could complete their comeback against 'the Lobos'. This close contest highlighted key moments such as Dakota Thomas' eight receptions totaling sixty-seven yards which were instrumental during critical drives throughout this matchup.
