In an intense game at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium, the New Mexico Lobos displayed remarkable offensive skills to overcome their opponents. The Lobos' passing game was efficient with nine completions for 192 yards and one touchdown pass that covered 12 yards. Their quarterback managed to maintain a high passer rating of 167 while avoiding any interceptions throughout the game.

The rushing attack added significant depth to the offense, contributing four touchdowns and accumulating 136 yards on the ground. One rush broke free for an impressive longest run of 21 yards which also resulted in a touchdown. The team's red zone efficiency was impeccable as they capitalized on all four of their opportunities.

Special teams played without notable errors but did not manage to make extraordinary plays either; no punts were blocked nor returned for touchdowns. However, two punts landed inside the opponent's 20-yard line, aiding in field position battles.

On defense, the Lobos managed one sack and forced one fumble which they recovered themselves; this showcased their ability to disrupt UMass's offensive rhythm. Penalties were kept relatively low with only six infractions costing them a total of 55 yards.

The Minutemen put up a valiant effort against their visitors but fell just short by three points. They rallied late in the fourth quarter scoring eleven points but couldn't complete their comeback during overtime where they scored three points against six from New Mexico.

Fans witnessed an attendance figure of approximately eight thousand at Warren McGuirk Alumni Stadium where both teams fought hard until the very end under artificial lights on an outdoor surface.

Looking ahead, fans can mark their calendars for when The New Mexico Lobos will face off against Wyoming Cowboys at Jonah Field at War Memorial Stadium located in Laramie on September 30th at around eight o'clock PM Eastern Time. This upcoming contest will be broadcasted live on MW Network for supporters unable to attend.
