At University Stadium, an attendance of 14,309 fans witnessed a game where the New Mexico Lobos struggled to keep pace with their opponents. The Lobos' offense managed a total of 209 yards compared to the Aztecs' more dominant performance. Despite this disparity, New Mexico's rushing efforts were highlighted by a touchdown from within six yards out and an impressive longest run that spanned over half the field at fifty-one yards. Their ground game ended with ninety-seven total rushing yards from twenty-six attempts.

The passing game for New Mexico was less effective, garnering only one hundred twelve net passing yards on fifteen completions out of twenty-three attempts. However, their completion percentage was notable at sixty-five percent. The receiving corps caught passes averaging almost eight yards per reception but failed to convert any into touchdowns.

Special teams had moments of efficiency for the Lobos as they successfully converted all kicking opportunities presented during the game – one field goal from thirty-nine yards and an extra point after their lone touchdown. Punting was frequent for New Mexico with seven attempts totaling two hundred seventy-six gross punting yards and three punts landing inside the twenty-yard line.

Defensively, while managing only one sack and five tackles for loss against a potent Aztec offense, they did secure an interception without allowing any return yardage on it. Penalties were relatively low for both sides; however, five penalties were called against New Mexico totaling thirty penalty yards.

On third downs though, success eluded them entirely – failing to convert on all eleven third-down attempts which significantly hampered their ability to sustain drives throughout the contest.

Looking ahead after this tough encounter at home soil in Albuquerque city's University Stadium (NM), fans can mark their calendars for when The New Mexico Lobos will take on Colorado State Rams away from home turf at Sonny Lubick Field at Canvas Stadium in Fort Collins on November 25th scheduled kick-off time is set for 8:30 PM Eastern Time Zone (ET). This upcoming football event will be broadcasted live on CBS Sports Network available via satellite channel two hundred twenty-one ensuring supporters won't miss any action as it unfolds.
