The game was marked by the Lobos' struggle to find their footing on offense. The team managed only nine first downs throughout the game and accumulated a mere 133 total yards. Their passing game was particularly stifled, with only 62 yards gained through the air and a completion percentage of just around 44 percent. On the ground, they fared slightly better with 71 rushing yards but still fell short of making significant headway against a staunch Rams defense.

Defensively, the New Mexico team showed more resilience. They recorded four sacks and forced two fumbles, recovering one themselves. However, these efforts were not enough to swing momentum in their favor as they were unable to capitalize on these opportunities.

Special teams also had moments of effectiveness for the Lobos; their punting unit averaged close to 49 yards across nine attempts with two punts landing inside the opposing team's 20-yard line. Despite this field position advantage provided by their punters, it did not translate into points on the scoreboard for New Mexico.

Penalties were relatively low for both teams; however, it's worth noting that New Mexico incurred four penalties totaling 38 yards which may have hindered some of their progress during critical moments in the game.

The Colorado State Rams demonstrated control over both sides of play as they steadily built up their lead quarter by quarter. They opened up scoring in the second quarter and followed up with three more points in third before sealing their victory with another touchdown in fourth.

As fans look forward to future games from The University of New Mexico football program after this tough outing against Colorado State University's team, they can catch all upcoming action broadcasted live as per usual scheduling arrangements.
