First Quarter

The game began with the Spartans taking an early lead, scoring 7 points while keeping the Lobos scoreless. The Pack's defense struggled to contain San Jose's offensive plays during this period.

Second Quarter

In a spirited comeback, the Lobos scored 17 points in the second quarter. Jack Layne led with precision passing, completing 70 percent of his throws for a total of 344 yards throughout the game. However, three interceptions marred his performance and proved costly for New Mexico.

Third Quarter

The third quarter saw another surge from San Jose as they added another 14 points to their tally. Despite efforts from players like Keagan Johnson who caught for an impressive total of 145 yards on eleven receptions, New Mexico couldn't find their rhythm offensively during this period.

Fourth Quarter

New Mexico mounted a late rally in the fourth quarter by scoring an additional eleven points without conceding any to San Jose. Damon Bankston contributed significantly with his rushing prowess, accumulating fifty-one yards and securing one touchdown for his team.

Despite these efforts and strong individual performances from players such as CJ McBean who made six tackles and Gabriel Lopez who recorded one tackle-for-loss yardage totaling three yards; it wasn't enough to overturn their deficit against Spartan’s robust defense which held firm till endgame whistle blew marking "New Mexico Lobos vs San Jose State Spartans final score".
