In a challenging encounter at the JMA Wireless Dome, the North Carolina State Wolfpack were unable to secure victory against their hosts. Despite their efforts, they fell short as they managed to put up only nine points against Syracuse's twenty-four. The Wolfpack's offensive unit was able to accumulate a total of 255 yards throughout the game but failed to convert these into touchdowns.

The passing game for the Wolfpack saw them complete 18 out of 31 attempts for a total of 160 yards. Special teams had some bright spots as all three field goal attempts were successful with the longest being forty-two yards contributing to all nine points scored by North Carolina State. Punting averaged nearly forty-seven yards across four attempts but did not significantly impact field position due to no punts landing inside the twenty-yard line.

Defensively, two interceptions showcased some resilience from North Carolina State's defense but it wasn't enough to turn the tide of the game. Penalties seemed controlled with only seven infractions costing fifty penalty yards throughout four quarters.
