The clash took place at Wayne Day Family Field at Carter-Finley Stadium in Raleigh, where the home team demonstrated their dominance on both offense and defense. Quarterback Grayson McCall was at the forefront of this charge, amassing 318 passing yards with a completion rate of 65 percent and adding three touchdowns to his team's score. Complementing McCall's aerial assault was running back Jordan Waters, who tore through defenses on the ground with 123 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Special teams also played a pivotal role in securing this victory for North Carolina State. Kicker Kanoah Vinesett was flawless in execution, converting all five extra-point attempts alongside a critical field goal from an impressive distance of 46 yards out. Punter Caden Noonkester contributed significantly as well, delivering two punts that totaled 75 yards and consistently advantaging North Carolina State in terms of field position during key moments.

Defensively, Isaiah Shirley made his presence felt by notching one sack and forcing a fumble that underscored North Carolina State's capacity to disrupt Western Carolina’s offensive flow. Donovan Kaufman complemented Shirley’s efforts by recovering a fumble which further shifted momentum towards North Carolina State.

Despite initially trailing after the first quarter (7-14), North Carolina State showcased their strategic depth and resilience by evening out before halftime (14-14) and then breaking away decisively in the fourth quarter with three touchdowns (21 points), leaving their opponents scoreless in that final stretch.

Western Carolina showed promise early on but found it challenging to sustain their initial momentum against North Carolina State’s comprehensive pressure as the game progressed.
