The first quarter saw both teams exchanging early blows. The Orange managed to take an initial lead with a touchdown that put them ahead. However, the Heels responded with a field goal from kicker Rece Verhoff, narrowing the gap and setting up what would be a competitive start.

In the second quarter, both defenses tightened up significantly. The Tar Heels added another field goal courtesy of Verhoff's accurate kicking. Meanwhile, Syracuse managed only one field goal themselves as both teams struggled to find offensive rhythm against stout defensive efforts.


Third Quarter


The third quarter marked a turning point for Chapel Hill as they surged ahead thanks to quarterback Gio Lopez's impressive passing game. Lopez threw for two touchdowns during this period; his longest pass was an electrifying 72-yard connection with Demon June that energized his teammates and fans alike.


Fourth Quarter
